GATI (Government Aviation Training Institute) is a flying club in India for commercial pilot training. GATI was set up in 1946 to bring about a quantum improvement in the standards of flying and ground training of Commercial Pilots in the Country as Orissa Flying Club.
It was merged with the Orissa Government Aviation Department In 1974 and Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) came into being. The Institute has since then trained a large number of commercial pilots some of whom are commanders in various Airlines.
COURSE STRUCTURE -
ELIGIBILITY:
1) Aspiring students need to be at least 17 and 18 years old at the time of sitting for the licensing exam conducted by DGCA for PPL and CPL respectively.
2) Along with class X for PPL and class XII for CPL with Math's and Physics as compulsory subjects the students need to be medically fit as per DGCA standards.
3) Since GATI believes in high standards of academics and quality, applicants need to qualify Entrance Test, Group Discussion and a Final Interview prior to their selection at GATI.
