NRITYAM the annual performing arts festival is hosted by the well-known art organization Shiladhish Art & Research Institute.  Over the years, it has taken several initiatives to de-mystify the classical arts & create an appreciative audience for the traditional arts.
In 2007, it flagged off an awareness campaign AIM (ART INITIATIVE MOVEMENT) spearheaded by its artistic director, well known danseuse & choreographer Prakriti Bhaskar.
A performing art can only be a living tradition. It cannot be preserved in a museum. It is alive in the body minds of its exponents & practitioners, and sustained by the appreciation of its patrons.
