Omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential for maintaining good health. There are several forms of Omega-3, of which ALA, EPA and DHA are the most important.
Of these Omega-3 fatty acids, DHA is the form most associated with health benefits in our bodies.
The body can convert ALA to EPA and then to DHA. However this is a slow, inefficient conversion and the best way to boost our DHA levels is to eat foods rich in DHA itself.
DHA in our dietsStatistics show that we consume only half the recommended intake of Omega-3. Oily fish such as mackerel, herrings and salmon, is one of the richest food sources of DHA. The food standards agency recommends that we eat at least 2 portions of fish a week, one of which should be a portion of oily fish.
Alternatively, one NUTRILITE Salmon Omega-3 a day can provide all the extra DHA you need.
