It’s almost picture perfect, the open sky, the pool, the cool breeze, old fashioned lamps hanging from the cute cabana tops and the candle light. Whoever thought you could sit and dine with your sweetheart with Spencer plaza as the backdrop one day! Kefi, the newest Mediterranean roof top restaurant has taken the city by storm, especially the young lovebirds. Sample the flavours from Greece, Morocco, Spain, Lebanon and Turkey and if you are in a fix while leafing through the extensive menu, call for help. We start off with a platter of tabbouleh, pita bread and a creamy garlic dip and hummus. Next came the antep mezze, which is a traditional Turkish cold mezze of green pepper, parsley, onion, tomato and chilli pepper and some Lebanese kebabs with lamb and pine nuts. The subtle flavours of the herbs with the succulent meats blend in like a beautiful song with great lyrics. The all time favourite moussaka, a Greek preparation of eggplant and zucchini in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes surely gets thumbs up from us. Try the samak makhli, pan fried pomfret with Middle Eastern spices and prawn pastilla, a Moroccan specialty of prawns encased in a flaky golden pastry too. Our HOT vote goes to the lamb chops with barbecue sauce which just melts in your mouth and leaves a great after–taste. Am surely going back for more! The grand finale comes with some signature desserts like baklava, phyllo pastry with walnuts and pistachio, flavoured with rose syrup and kazan Dibi, rice custard with sugar and cinnamon. It surely cannot get better than this!
