The Japan based, Toshiba Corporation is all set to offer our mobile phones more storage capacity. At present most mobile phones come with 512 MB of memory storage except Apple iPhone and few handsets offered by Samsung but now Toshiba is all set to change the scenario.
It has launched its 128-gigabyte (GB) embedded NAND flash memory
module, which it claims is the highest capacity yet achieved in the industry. Measuring 17 x 22mm with 1.4 millimeters in thickness the new 128GB embedded device integrates sixteen 64Gbit4 (equal to 8GB) NAND chips fabricated with Toshiba’s cutting-edge 32nm process technology and a dedicated controller.
This flash memory module is designed to be a better memory substitute for devices like smartphones, tablet PCs and digital video cameras and is fully compliant with the latest JEDEC standards. The Flash Chips are also available in 64 GB.
The company is yet to announce the price tag of these new products and is all set release samples of its 64 GB in August
