Facebook games are now fun and “eco”- friendly

Facebook goes green by introducing games that promote ideas and concepts aiming at environmental protection
The new collaboration between DoSomething.org and the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency on a Facebook game called emission is an impressive initiative to encourage green behavior through cyber games and online applications.
These games have an intriguing concept of letting the teen players jump to subsequent levels only if they suggest an “environment saving action”. For instance there is a thoughtful setting where the players have to cultivate a coastal habitat repleted with threatened species such as sea lions and bald eagles. Once the players complete missions such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions they advance to the next level.
According to Aria Finger, the Chief Operating officer of DoSomething.org, “Teens are using Facebook every single day but most significantly, they are spending time on playing games. We are thrilled that we can partner with top environmental and social games experts to use this platform to mobilize teens offline around energy efficiency.”
