Twitter earlier in December 2009 had launched a mobile website along with Slandr and it was known to be the best non iPhone mobile Twitter application. But today the news is that Slandr mobile site is up for sale for $25,000.
With such a high quote it may fail to market itself as Twitter’s very own mobile site has become so good. Twitter offers better application free of cost and this would lure more users.
UberMedia is the only company that could offer such a high bid more so when it has been criticizing Twitter applications lately. The site earns between $100 to $250 per month and attracts about 40,00 unique users on a monthly basis. Slandr developer Landegent has claimed that users stay on this site for at least 7 minutes per visit and has reached about 1 million pageviews last month.
Slandr has put this site up for sale because it wants to enter into a new arena of location based audio recordings site. Whether Slandr is able to sell this site for such a huge amount remails to be seen.
