Winklevoss Finally give up on Facebook

Posted on Thursday, June 23rd, 2011 at 8:23 am

It has been years since Tylor and Cameron Winklevoss began their fight for Facebook against Mark Zuckerberg. They were classmates of Mark at Harvard and accused him of stealing their idea.

In 2008, they had settled that amounts to almost $200 million today. Unfortunately the twins later claimed that actual value of Facebook stock was not revealed to them and that they have been cheated. They had appealed again at The Ninth Circuit of Court Appeals and lost. The court held that at some point in time their litigation must come to an end. That point in time, according to the court, had been reached.

The Winklevoss didn’t think so. They had appealed their case to the US Supreme Court. Now the Winklevoss have decided to withdraw their appeal. This was quite predictable for they didn’t really stand a chance to be heard let alone win.

Somehow, the credibility of the Winklevoss is such, that you can’t quite trust them when they claim they have dropped it. They have a history of, let’s say, “being back”.
