Google shuts Google Health and PowerMeter

Google is closing down two of its projects. These projects- Google Health and PowerMeter- did not have enough users and thus the management did not find it worthy enough of being carried on.
Google Health was a service that would store all your personal health records and information. This project would be officially shelved on January 1, 2012. The users can download their data before it shuts down. The other project PowerMeter was to keep check of your energy usage and this project would shut down sooner- September 16, 2011.
Google promises to make the downloading of data from these sites simpler and faster. It has also hinted at integrating the users data to similar applications. The management feels that though both these applications were useful and important, the number of users did not reach their expectations. Thus as the figures never even promised the expected increase they were forced to shun both these projects and concentrate their energies elsewhere.
