The crown jewel of B-schools in India, the IIMs declared their respective overall and sectional CAT Cutoffs for CAT 2017. Bucking trends set by other premier colleges in India, IIMs declare their CAT cutoffs nearly three months prior to the exam. Like any top institution in world, the IIM s habit for eccentricity is legendary.
Being convened by IIM Lucknow this year, CAT 2017 will be following the same pattern from last year and the year before. After changing the pattern back in 2015, the IIMs seem to found the right blueprint to conduct CAT every year. Besides the IIMs, many other top B-schools such as FMS, S.P Jain, XLRI etc accept CAT scores as being valid for MBA admissions. However, the CAT cutoff for these colleges is declared after the exam due to no prior knowledge of test difficulty and expected student performance.
