Key Responsibilities

1. Installation of Gypsum Systems

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, pencil, chalk, and measuring tape.
• Cut gypsum boards to required sizes using hand tools, power saws, or cutting machines.
• Install drywall boards on metal or wooden framework using screws, nails, or adhesives.
• Build and install gypsum ceilings (false ceilings, dropped ceilings, decorative designs) using proper leveling techniques.

2. Framing and Partitioning

• Construct and install metal or wooden frameworks for ceilings, partitions, and wall paneling.
• Align and secure structures using levels, plumb lines, laser levels, and measuring tools.
• Create various types of gypsum wall partitions such as single/double-layer partitions, fire-rated partitions, or moisture-resistant panels.

3. Finishing and Decorative Work

• Apply corner beads, joint compound, and tape to seal joints and corners for a smooth surface.
• Sand joints after the compound has dried for a seamless finish.
• Assist in creating design features such as coves, domes, arches, niches, and recessed lighting boxes using gypsum materials.

4. Repair and Maintenance

• Identify and repair cracks, holes, or water-damaged gypsum panels.
• Replace or restore damaged ceiling panels or partition boards.
• Perform maintenance tasks as part of a facility or property upkeep team when required.

5. Coordination and Safety

• Collaborate with interior designers, engineers, supervisors, and other construction trades on-site.
• Follow site safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the worksite to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Report any issues related to materials, drawings, or progress to the site supervisor.
