Job Description
A Field Sales Executive is responsible for:&
- Generating sales revenue by meeting and exceeding targets&
- Building and maintaining customer relationships&
- Identifying new business opportunities&
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis&
- Developing and implementing sales strategies&
- Creating and delivering sales presentations and demos&
- Managing sales cycles from lead to close
- Maintaining accurate sales records and reports&
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, customer support)&
- Staying up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends

Key Responsibilities:

1. Merchant Acquisition and Onboarding:

  • Visit local retail outlets, vendors, and service providers to explain the advantages of accepting digital payments through Paytm.
  • Pitch and promote Paytm s QR code, Soundbox, POS terminals, and other merchant-focused solutions.
  • Onboard merchants onto the Paytm platform by collecting required documents (e.g., PAN, Aadhaar, shop license) and completing the KYC process.
  • Ensure that merchants are successfully activated and ready to accept payments.

2. Product Demonstration and Promotion:

  • Demonstrate how to use Paytm s merchant app, QR code, and soundbox functionalities.
  • Educate merchants on how to view transactions, receive settlements, and access customer support via the Paytm app.
  • Encourage merchants to opt for premium offerings like subscription-based Soundbox or insurance plans.

3. Territory Management:

  • Work within a designated area, covering multiple localities or market zones daily.
  • Plan daily visits strategically to maximize the number of merchant interactions.
  • Track leads, conversions, and merchant feedback to continuously improve sales performance.

4. Customer Support and Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for merchants during onboarding and early usage.
  • Resolve merchant issues related to payment reconciliation, settlement delays, or device malfunctions.
  • Build long-term relationships with merchants to drive repeat business, referrals, and product upselling.

5. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of daily visits, leads generated, merchants onboarded, and feedback received.
  • Submit reports to the Area Sales Manager on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Use mobile apps or CRM tools provided by Paytm to log all activity and merchant data.
