Required Housekeeping Supervisor - Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Staff Coordination

• Lead, supervise, and motivate the housekeeping team to ensure timely and effective completion of daily cleaning tasks.
• Assign daily work schedules and duties to housekeeping staff based on occupancy and operational requirements.
• Monitor staff performance, provide on-the-job training, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular briefings and communicate any updates or instructions from management.

2. Inspection and Quality Control

• Perform daily inspections of rooms, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, office spaces, and other areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols.
• Identify and address any deficiencies in housekeeping tasks such as missed spots, unclean linen, or improperly arranged furniture.
• Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken lights, leaks, or faulty equipment) to the maintenance department.

3. Inventory and Supplies Management

• Monitor usage of cleaning materials and supplies and reorder stock as needed.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are stored properly and handled safely.
• Keep accurate records of inventory, damaged items, and requisitions.
• Track linen usage, laundry cycles, and ensure timely replacement of beddings and towels.

4. Training and Development

• Train new housekeeping staff on standard cleaning procedures, chemical usage, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
• Conduct refresher training sessions periodically for existing staff.
• Provide guidance on proper guest interaction and customer service etiquette.
• Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvements or disciplinary actions if necessary.

5. Customer Service and Complaint Handling

• Respond promptly to guest or client complaints related to cleanliness, housekeeping delays, or room setup.
• Coordinate with front desk or facility management to resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure special requests (such as additional amenities or VIP room preparation) are fulfilled accurately.

6. Health and Safety Compliance

• Ensure all housekeeping staff follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE, and handle chemicals responsibly.
• Conduct routine safety checks and participate in risk assessments.
• Enforce fire, emergency, and evacuation procedures as necessary.
