Pre Primary Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Teaching and Child Development:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and activities based on the school s curriculum or educational philosophy (e.g., Montessori, EYFS, Reggio Emilia).
• Use play-based and experiential learning techniques to introduce concepts in language, numbers, motor skills, sensory awareness, and emotional intelligence.
• Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking through group and individual activities.
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment where each child feels safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
• Track and assess the developmental progress of each child using observation, checklists, and child portfolios.

2. Classroom Management and Organization:

• Set up and maintain an organized, welcoming, and stimulating classroom with learning corners, activity zones, and appropriate teaching materials.
• Maintain discipline through positive reinforcement, redirection, and age-appropriate classroom rules.
• Ensure proper supervision of children at all times to maintain safety and well-being.
• Organize classroom supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in the teaching space.

3. Communication and Parent Engagement:

• Maintain open and respectful communication with parents through meetings, written updates, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Share regular feedback on student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
• Address concerns or special needs in collaboration with the school counselor or special education team if required.
• Encourage parental involvement in school activities, celebrations, and learning at home.

4. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

• Participate in lesson planning, curriculum development, and weekly academic planning sessions with other teachers.
• Incorporate storytelling, music, art, physical education, nature study, and dramatic play into the daily routine.
• Align teaching methods and content with age-appropriate learning outcomes and school philosophy.
• Celebrate cultural events, festivals, and theme-based activities to encourage social awareness and diversity.

5. Assessment and Documentation:

• Monitor and document student progress through observations, anecdotal records, and learning journals.
• Maintain individual student files with development checklists, activity samples, and assessment records.
• Prepare end-of-term report cards or progress notes as per school guidelines.
• Collaborate with the academic coordinator or principal in conducting evaluations and setting learning goals for students.

6. Professional Conduct and Collaboration:

• Participate actively in staff meetings, workshops, in-service training, and school functions.
