Civil Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution and Supervision:

• Supervise all on-site construction activities including earthworks, concreting, brickwork, plastering, formwork, steelwork, finishing, and other civil works.
• Interpret and implement architectural and structural drawings, layouts, and construction plans.
• Ensure all work is executed as per approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes.

2. Site Coordination and Labor Management:

• Coordinate with site workers, foremen, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of work.
• Assign daily responsibilities to laborers and monitor their output.
• Maintain discipline, safety, and efficiency at the site.

3. Quality Control and Assurance:

• Check materials used and workmanship to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction.
• Conduct regular inspections and site tests to verify proper alignment, level, compaction, and finishing.
• Raise quality issues or deviations to the Project Manager and recommend corrective actions.

4. Measurement and Reporting:

• Maintain records of material usage, daily labor deployment, and work progress.
• Measure quantities of work completed for billing and contractor payments.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and submit updates to the project or head office team.

5. Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce safety regulations and ensure all workers use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Monitor site operations to avoid any hazardous situations or unsafe practices.
• Liaise with site safety officers or health and safety personnel when needed.

6. Material and Equipment Handling:

• Receive and inspect materials delivered to the site for quality and quantity.
• Ensure proper storage and usage of construction materials and tools to minimize waste and theft.
• Manage site tools, scaffolding, mixers, vibrators, and other equipment efficiently.

7. Stakeholder Communication:

• Interact with clients, consultants, architects, and government authorities during inspections or project evaluations.
• Attend site meetings and relay technical information and feedback to relevant parties.
• Communicate progress, delays, or concerns clearly to the Project Manager or team leader.
