Control Room Technician

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Monitoring and Operation:

• Operate and monitor all process control equipment, systems, and instruments from the control room.
• Track and record parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, and level readings using HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and SCADA/DCS systems.
• Detect and respond promptly to system alarms, abnormal conditions, or deviations from standard operating parameters.
• Adjust system settings and controls to optimize performance, production, and energy usage.

2. Communication and Coordination:

• Maintain continuous communication with field operators, maintenance personnel, and shift supervisors.
• Relay instructions to field staff regarding adjustments, shutdowns, restarts, or emergency procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments like maintenance, safety, and quality to report issues and schedule interventions.

3. Data Logging and Reporting:

• Record daily operational data and logs in system databases or logbooks.
• Prepare shift handover reports, production data, incident logs, and equipment status updates.
• Analyze historical data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or irregularities.

4. Troubleshooting and Support:

• Assist in diagnosing problems in mechanical or process systems by analyzing control room data and feedback from field staff.
• Conduct basic system resets, reroutes, or manual overrides under supervisor guidance during faults or downtime.
• Support engineering and maintenance teams in resolving technical issues and carrying out system tests.

5. Safety and Compliance:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
• Respond to emergency situations following the company s safety protocols and emergency response plans.
• Report near misses, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to the concerned authority.

6. System Maintenance and Testing:

• Participate in periodic testing of alarms, safety systems, and backup systems.
• Support preventive maintenance activities by isolating systems and providing operational data.
• Suggest improvements to control logic, alarms, and workflows based on observed performance.
