Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Delivery:

• Teach English Language and Literature to senior secondary students (Classes 11 and 12).
• Follow and execute the prescribed syllabus (CBSE/ICSE/State Board/IGCSE/IB) while enriching it with supplementary activities and relevant examples.
• Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and unit plans in advance, aligned with academic calendars and examination schedules.

2. Classroom Management and Instruction:

• Manage classroom behavior, encourage student participation, and create a disciplined, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Use modern teaching methodologies such as blended learning, flipped classrooms, and technology-enabled instruction where applicable.
• Adapt teaching styles to suit the needs of individual learners and ensure equal attention is provided to all students.

3. Assessment and Evaluation:

• Design, administer, and grade assignments, tests, term exams, and other formative/summative assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance.
• Maintain accurate records of students academic progress and attendance.

4. Language and Literary Development:

• Encourage critical reading of prose and poetry, essay writing, creative writing, and public speaking skills.
• Lead debates, elocution, group discussions, and other English communication activities.
• Help students analyze classic and modern texts, fostering appreciation of literary styles, themes, and contexts.

5. Parent and Student Communication:

• Regularly communicate with parents/guardians through PTMs, reports, and phone/email correspondence regarding students performance and behavior.
• Offer remedial support or extra classes as needed for students requiring additional help.

6. Examination and Board Preparation:

• Prepare students rigorously for Board Examinations (e.g., CBSE Class 12 English Core/English Elective).
• Provide guidance on writing skills, comprehension passages, literary analysis, and grammar sections as per board requirements.
• Help students understand examination patterns, answer presentation techniques, and time management during exams.

7. Co-curricular and Departmental Contribution:

• Participate actively in school events, literary clubs, inter-house competitions, and annual day functions.
• Assist in developing the English curriculum, resource material, and question banks.
• Attend departmental and staff meetings, workshops, training sessions, and professional development programs.
