Job Summary:We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead a team responsible for the acquisition and activation of EDC (Electronic Data Capture) machines/POS terminals. This role demands strong leadership, people management, and a strategic sales mindset to drive performance across key merchant segments.Key Responsibilities:1. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Sales Executives/Officers focused on EDC machine sales and merchant onboarding.2. Set clear sales targets, monitor daily performance, and ensure team achieves monthly and quarterly goals.3. Drive acquisition of high-potential merchants in SME, retail, hospitality, and healthcare sectors.4. Design and execute local sales campaigns and merchant engagement strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Operations) to streamline merchant onboarding and service.5. Analyze team productivity metrics, generate performance dashboards, and take corrective actions when needed.5. Train and coach sales staff on product knowledge, objection handling, and field sales techniques.6. Build and maintain strong relationships with key merchants, partners, and aggregators.7. Ensure compliance with documentation, KYC norms, and regulatory guidelines.Track EDC activation rates and drive repeat usage and transaction growth post-installation.Candidate Requirements:- Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).- 5-10 years of total sales experience, with 2-4 years in a team handling role, preferably in POS/EDC/payments domain.- Strong understanding of the digital payments landscape, merchant behavior, and competitive offerings.- Proven ability to lead and motivate field sales teams to exceed targets.- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.- Familiarity with CRM tools, reporting software, and sales tracking systems.- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):- Team EDC sales and installation targets- Merchant acquisition and onboarding numbers- Monthly active EDC terminals- Transaction volume (TPV) and repeat usage- Team performance and retention- Territory-wise market share growth (ref:updazz.com)
