Senior Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Design Coordination

• Review and validate engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants during the planning and design phases.
• Assist in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates, and tender documents.
• Provide value engineering input to optimize project design and cost-efficiency.

2. Site Execution & Supervision

• Oversee day-to-day site activities to ensure proper execution as per design and specification.
• Supervise subcontractors, site engineers, and construction workers.
• Ensure work progress adheres to the project schedule and meets quality benchmarks.
• Resolve technical issues encountered on-site and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

3. Quality Control & Safety Compliance

• Monitor and enforce quality control standards at every stage of construction.
• Conduct site inspections and approve construction materials and workmanship.
• Ensure implementation of safety protocols, site discipline, and adherence to local building codes.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and safety teams for audits, checklists, and compliance documentation.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Track project progress against timeline, budget, and resources using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for stakeholders and management.
• Identify project risks or delays early and propose corrective actions.
• Support the procurement team by forecasting material and resource requirements.

5. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of junior engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Conduct training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for junior staff.
• Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams such as design, procurement, and site execution.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and government authorities as required.
