Required Accountant - Pune

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, maintaining financial records, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports. The role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and familiarity with accounting software. The accountant also ensures compliance with tax regulations and supports internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts and journal entries.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer ledgers on a regular basis.
• Track accounts payable and receivable accurately.

2. Financial Reporting

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Generate MIS (Management Information System) reports for internal use.
• Provide data and insights for budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actuals to budgets.

3. Taxation and Compliance

• Calculate and file statutory taxes such as GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and income tax within deadlines.
• Maintain proper records for audits and tax assessments.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local laws.

4. Payroll and Expense Management

• Support payroll processing by maintaining attendance and salary records.
• Verify employee reimbursement claims and ensure timely disbursement.
• Track operational expenses and maintain documentation for all payments made.

5. Invoicing and Billing

• Generate accurate customer invoices based on sales data or contracts.
• Follow up with clients for pending payments and update the accounts receivable ledger.
• Maintain records of vendor bills and process payments on time.

6. Internal Controls and Audit

• Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud or financial discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data at all times.
