About SSC Stenographer Recruitment Examination 2025

The Stenographer Group-C and Group-D Recruitment Examination 2025& is an annual recruitment examination of SSC mandated by the Government of India to select and recruit suitable candidates for the posts of Stenographers. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade 'C ' (Group 'B ', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D ' (Group 'C ') for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India annually.
For the recruitment examination of Stenographers 2025, only candidates with the required skills in& stenography are eligible to apply. This minimum qualification is the 12th pass for the vacancy of the Stenographer post.

SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2025 Vacancies

• Stenographers Grade 'C ':& Age: 18-30 years as of 01/08/2025, Relaxations in age as per rules, Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University, Pay Scale Pay Grade: 4600 and 4200 (pre-revised)
• Stenographers Grade 'D ' : Age: 18-27 years as of 01/08/2025, Relaxations in age as per rules, Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University, Pay Scale Pay Grade: 2400 (pre-revised)

Application Fee

An application fee of 100/- to be paid through & BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa MasterCard, Maestro& RuPay Credit, or Debit cards or in cash at SBI Branch by generating SBI Challan. No fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen and Women& candidates.

Selection Process

The SSC will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the posts of Stenographer from 6th August to 11th August 2025 only. The scheme of the examination will be like this -

The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The candidates 1will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D .
