Required Research Analyst - Chennai

This role is ideal for individuals with a strong research background, excellent data analysis skills, and an interest in the academic publishing ecosystem, scholarly communication, and digital content dissemination. The Research Analyst will play a vital role in helping the organization make data-driven decisions related to publication strategy, research quality, and editorial impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Publication Research and Analysis

• Analyze publication output across various departments, authors, or journals to track performance and trends.
• Collect and interpret bibliometric data including citations, h-index, impact factor, and altmetrics.
• Conduct comparative analyses of journals, publishing platforms, and editorial practices to support strategic planning.
• Maintain databases of published research and ensure accurate records of author affiliations, keywords, funding acknowledgments, and DOI information.

2. Trend Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor and report on emerging trends in scholarly publishing, including open access models, preprints, peer review models, and digital dissemination tools.
• Track national and international policies impacting publication practices (e.g., Plan S, institutional mandates, funding agency requirements).
• Prepare regular analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations highlighting publication metrics, author productivity, and content reach.

3. Strategic Support for Publications

• Assist editorial teams in evaluating potential journals for submission based on relevance, visibility, indexing, and impact.
• Support strategic initiatives for increasing publication reach, such as indexing in major databases (Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed).
• Collaborate with communication teams to identify high-impact research for press releases or digital promotion.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of internal publication guidelines, quality control, and author support services.

4. Data Management and Research Tools

• Retrieve and manage data from bibliometric and academic databases (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, Crossref, Google Scholar).
• Use data analytics tools (Excel, SPSS, R, Python, or Power BI) to perform quantitative analysis of publication data.
• Maintain and update internal databases related to publication history, grants, and author records.

5. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with researchers, faculty members, librarians, and publishing partners to support publication planning and strategy.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders through presentations, workshops, or written reports.
• Participate in editorial board meetings or publication planning sessions as a data-driven advisor.
• Contribute to internal training programs to improve understanding of research metrics, journal selection, and impact maximization.
