Job Description

Retail salesman at stationery store& 11:00- 9:00 pm&

Sundays 4:00 - 9:00 pm

Last Sunday off&

Customers attending, billings, packing, etc.&

Daily store opening and closing responsibility

Objectives of the Role

To provide excellent customer service and assist shoppers in making informed purchasing decisions.

To promote and sell products effectively to meet or exceed sales targets.

To maintain a clean, organized, and attractive store environment.

To foster customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Assistance & Service

Greet customers warmly upon entry and assist them with their shopping needs.

Understand customer requirements and suggest suitable products.

Answer customer queries about products, prices, availability, and store policies.

Provide product demonstrations or explanations when required.

2. Sales & Upselling

Promote featured or promotional products to increase sales.

Cross-sell and upsell related items to maximize sales opportunities.

Encourage customers to purchase additional items or accessories.

3. Product Knowledge & Display

Maintain thorough knowledge of the products, their features, and benefits.

Keep shelves, displays, and stock organized, clean, and attractive.

Ensure pricing labels and promotional signage are accurate and visible.

Restock shelves and assist in inventory management.

4. Cash Handling & Transactions

Operate cash registers and process sales accurately.

Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and receipts professionally.

Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per store policies.

5. Store Maintenance & Cleanliness

Ensure the store environment is clean, safe, and welcoming.

Follow safety protocols and report hazards promptly.

Assist in setting up promotional displays and store merchandising.

6. Inventory Management

Assist in stocktaking and inventory counts.

Report low stock levels and coordinate with the inventory team for replenishment.

Receive and check deliveries for accuracy and quality.

7. Customer Feedback & Complaint Handling

Listen to customer feedback and resolve minor complaints courteously.

Escalate unresolved issues to the store manager or supervisor.

8. Adherence to Policies

Follow store policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
