Computer Operator - Data Entry

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Computer Operator Data Entry professional to manage data input, digital record keeping, and system operations within our organization. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent typing skills, computer literacy, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely data entry into various databases and information systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and security of our data. Responsibilities include inputting data from various sources into company systems, checking data accuracy, generating reports, and supporting system operations. You must be comfortable working independently, handling repetitive tasks, and meeting deadlines in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Entry and Management

• Accurately enter, update, and maintain various types of data into spreadsheets, databases, or proprietary systems.
• Process forms, documents, applications, and other materials with a high degree of speed and accuracy.
• Perform routine verification and quality checks on entered data to ensure consistency and completeness.
• Review data for errors, identify deficiencies, and correct inconsistencies using standard procedures.

2. Computer Operation

• Operate standard computer systems, including terminals and software applications, for data processing tasks.
• Monitor system performance and report hardware or software issues to the IT department.
• Back up data regularly and ensure that security protocols are followed when handling confidential or sensitive information.
• Print, scan, or upload digital files as needed and ensure proper data archiving.

3. Reporting and Documentation

• Generate daily, weekly, or monthly data reports as required by supervisors or department heads.
• Assist in creating charts, graphs, or summaries from processed data for decision-making purposes.
• Maintain proper documentation for data transactions and follow company file retention policies.
• Keep logs of activities, completed work, and unusual occurrences for audit or quality control purposes.

4. Communication and Coordination

• Coordinate with team members or departments to resolve data discrepancies and support information needs.
• Respond to emails, inquiries, or internal requests related to data entry and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with IT or technical staff to troubleshoot system-related issues that affect data input or processing.
• Maintain a cooperative and professional attitude when dealing with coworkers, clients, or management.

5. Administrative Support

• Perform basic administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and preparing routine correspondence.
• Organize and manage hardcopy and electronic records in an orderly manner for easy access and retrieval.
• Support project teams or departments with ad hoc data entry or document processing tasks as assigned.
