Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Trainee to join our finance team. This internship is designed for individuals seeking practical experience in accounting and finance operations, with a strong desire to develop a career in accounting. As an Accounts Trainee, you will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and learn how to manage company accounts. This role offers hands-on exposure to accounting software, internal controls, and financial processes, helping you build a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Bookkeeping and Data Entry:

• Record financial transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments accurately in accounting software.
• Maintain ledgers, journals, and other financial records.
• Ensure all entries comply with company policies and accounting standards.

2. Assisting with Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Support the accounts team in processing invoices and payments.
• Help monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients/customers.
• Prepare and reconcile supplier statements and customer accounts.

3. Bank Reconciliation:

• Assist in reconciling bank statements with company records.
• Identify discrepancies and report issues to the accounts manager.
• Maintain documentation related to bank transactions.

4. Supporting Financial Reporting:

• Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in compiling data for budget preparation and forecasting.
• Support internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

5. Compliance and Documentation:

• Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and vouchers.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory submissions.

6. Learning and Development:

• Gain hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle Financials.
• Develop understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops as directed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Basic understanding of financial statements and bookkeeping.
• Ability to work with numbers accurately and efficiently.
