Required CNC Operator - Hosur

Key Responsibilities

1. CNC Machine Setup and Operation

• Prepare CNC cutting machines (plasma, flame, or laser) before production by loading programs, positioning materials, and checking settings.
• Select and load the appropriate tools and materials for each job.
• Secure raw steel or iron sheets/plates onto the machine bed using clamps or lifting equipment.
• Calibrate the machine as needed to ensure precise cutting, adjusting parameters such as speed, feed rate, and cut depth.

2. Machine Programming and Adjustments

• Load pre-written G-code or CNC programs and make minor edits for job-specific needs.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, or CAD files to verify machine instructions.
• Identify and resolve simple programming issues and make offset adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers or supervisors if complex programming or tooling changes are required.

3. Quality Control and Inspection

• Measure and inspect cut materials using rulers, calipers, gauges, or templates to confirm specifications.
• Monitor the first piece of each run to ensure proper machine function and accurate cutting.
• Detect and correct defects during production, including misalignment, rough edges, or incorrect dimensions.
• Record inspection results and report any consistent deviations to the production supervisor.

4. Maintenance and Safety

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of CNC machines (lubrication, nozzle cleaning, etc.).
• Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, free from metal scraps and debris.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and steel-toed boots.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Complete job order forms, machine logs, and production reports accurately.
• Report production numbers, downtimes, material usage, and scrap levels.
• Communicate with supervisors or team members about project progress or potential delays.
