Weighment Supervisor - Poultry Integration

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Weighment Supervisor to oversee and manage the poultry weighment process within our integration operations. This role involves supervising and conducting accurate weight checks of live birds at various stages farm dispatch, arrival at processing plants, and during farm audits. The Weighment Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining transparency, accuracy, and accountability in the poultry supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of poultry operations, experience in farm or logistics management, and the ability to work in rural and field environments. Knowledge of biosecurity, documentation, and team coordination is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bird Weighment and Monitoring

• Supervise and carry out the weighment of live birds at poultry farms before dispatch.
• Monitor the weighment process during loading and unloading at plants or collection points.
• Ensure proper handling and minimum stress to birds during the weighment process.
• Use calibrated digital or manual weighing scales and maintain accuracy.

2. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain records of daily weighment including farm name, batch ID, weight, number of birds, and time of dispatch.
• Fill out weighment registers or digital forms as per company protocol.
• Report discrepancies in expected vs actual weights to the area manager or supervisor.
• Ensure documentation is signed and acknowledged by farm representatives and transporters.

3. Process Supervision and Integrity

• Ensure fair and transparent weighment at farms and collection centers.
• Prevent manipulation, malpractice, or fraudulent reporting of bird weights.
• Act as an impartial link between the company and contract farmers for bird weighment.
• Report any biosecurity lapses or unethical practices to the management immediately.

4. Coordination with Other Teams

• Work closely with the logistics team to schedule transport according to dispatch plans.
• Coordinate with farm supervisors, veterinarians, and field officers for bird readiness and weighment timing.
• Liaise with plant-side teams for timely reception and unloading of live birds.

5. Biosecurity and Farm Protocols

• Follow all biosecurity measures while entering and exiting poultry farms.
• Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as per company policy.
• Disinfect vehicles, weighing equipment, and tools before and after use.
• Avoid cross-contamination between farms during visits.
