Job Summary

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and multitasking Assistant Fashion Designer to join our women s wear design studio , which specializes in both customized outfits and ready-to-wear collections for e-commerce . The ideal candidate should be passionate about fashion, especially women s wear, and possess strong skills in freehand sketching and fashion illustration . This is a dynamic role that combines creativity with practical coordination. The Assistant Designer will support the head designer in various stages of design, from concept development and client interaction to execution and final delivery. Freshers with strong creative flair and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Support & Concept Development

• Assist the head designer in developing seasonal collections and custom design projects.
• Create freehand sketches , illustrations, and fashion design boards for client approvals and internal planning.
• Research fashion trends, fabrics, colors, embroidery, and silhouettes to contribute to new ideas and design direction.
• Prepare mood boards, swatch boards, and reference material for design presentations.

2. Customization & Client Coordination

• Interact with walk-in clients, understand their design requirements, and translate them into workable concepts.
• Offer design suggestions and styling inputs based on body type, occasion, and current trends.
• Support in taking accurate body measurements and maintaining client records for tailoring and fitting purposes.
• Assist in fittings, note down alterations, and ensure changes are implemented on time.
• Maintain excellent customer service and communication throughout the customization process.

3. Illustration and Technical Drawing

• Create detailed freehand sketches and flat technical drawings of garments with annotations.
• Support in digital illustrations if required (knowledge of Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus but not mandatory).
• Ensure accuracy in communicating garment construction and embellishment details through visuals.

4. Studio & Sample Management

• Help in coordinating with tailors, karigars (artisans), and sample makers to ensure timely production.
• Monitor quality during sampling and final garment checking, ensuring specifications are followed.
• Maintain design records, style numbers, and material consumption reports for each design.

5. E-Commerce Coordination (If applicable)

• Assist in styling and preparing outfits for product shoots and cataloging.
• Coordinate with the content and marketing team for product descriptions and social media inputs.
• Support inventory management and restocking planning based on popular designs.

6. Multitasking & Administrative Support

• Handle daily studio tasks including fabric procurement, coordinating courier deliveries, and studio organization.
• Maintain measurement charts, client files, swatch folders, and vendor contacts.
• Participate in exhibitions, pop-ups, and client meetings as required by the studio.
