Consultant Physician - Kalwa

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Care

• Examine and assess patients to diagnose internal medical conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Manage complex and chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular conditions, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests as needed.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

2. Medical Leadership

• Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in the management of cases.
• Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Serve as a reference for complex diagnostic or therapeutic issues within the department.

3. Patient Communication and Counseling

• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, lifestyle changes, and preventive healthcare.
• Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented appropriately.
• Maintain empathy, confidentiality, and clear communication throughout the patient journey.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including case histories, progress notes, test results, and discharge summaries.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and data protection laws.
• Prepare case reports and contribute to clinical audits or medical research.

5. Emergency and On-Call Duties

• Be available for on-call or emergency consultations as per hospital duty roster.
• Provide timely and effective intervention in acute care scenarios.

6. Continuing Education and Compliance

• Stay updated on medical advancements, guidelines, and evidence-based practices through continuous professional development.
• Attend and contribute to medical conferences, seminars, and training programs.
• Ensure compliance with national and local regulatory guidelines and health protocols.
