Required Chemist - Raigarh

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable, analytical, and detail-oriented Chemist to join our laboratory or production support team. The Chemist will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or experiments in laboratories for quality control, process development, or product formulation. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of chemistry principles, laboratory techniques, and applicable industry standards. Whether working in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, environmental labs, or food & beverage industries, the Chemist plays a vital role in ensuring product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Chemical Testing and Analysis

• Conduct routine and non-routine chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Perform titrations, chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR), and wet chemistry methods depending on product type and industry.
• Prepare and standardize reagents, solutions, and buffers as needed for testing procedures.

2. Quality Control and Assurance

• Support the Quality Control (QC) department in maintaining product quality as per defined specifications and regulatory standards.
• Conduct environmental and stability testing as required by quality protocols.
• Validate and calibrate instruments periodically to ensure testing accuracy.
• Record and evaluate data, identify trends, and report any deviations or non-conformance to supervisors.

3. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of experiments, test results, and observations in laboratory notebooks or digital systems.
• Prepare test reports, certificates of analysis (COAs), and deviation reports where applicable.
• Ensure all documentation complies with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

4. Safety and Compliance

• Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical storage, and waste disposal procedures.
• Identify potential safety hazards, conduct risk assessments, and participate in safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from agencies such as the FDA, EPA, BIS, or local pollution control boards.

5. Research and Development (if R&D role)

• Assist in the formulation and development of new products, processes, or improvements to existing formulations.
• Conduct experimental trials and provide technical input to improve efficiency, shelf-life, or quality of products.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and production, to support pilot-scale trials and commercialization.

6. Instrument Operation and Maintenance

• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment such as:
  • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
  • Gas Chromatography (GC)
  • UV-Vis and FTIR spectrophotometers
  • pH meters, melting point apparatus, viscometers
• Schedule calibration and preventive maintenance to avoid downtime or inaccurate results.
