Required Accountant Assistant - Surat

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant Assistant to support the accounts department of our Dyeing and Printing Mills. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing vouchers, managing bank reconciliations, and ensuring proper documentation and filing of accounting data. As an Accountant Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth functioning of the accounts office by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, supporting senior accountants, and contributing to the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Entries and Data Maintenance

• Prepare and record daily accounting entries such as purchase invoices, sales invoices, expense bills, and payment vouchers.
• Enter data accurately into accounting software or ledger books, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely.
• Verify the accuracy of invoices, bills, and vouchers before posting.

2. Voucher Preparation

• Prepare various accounting vouchers (payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, journal vouchers) as per company policy.
• Ensure proper authorization and documentation accompanies each voucher.
• Maintain systematic records of all vouchers for audit and reference.

3. Bank Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify cash and bank balances.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and report variances to senior accountants.

4. Filing and Documentation

• Maintain organized filing systems for accounting documents including invoices, vouchers, payment receipts, bank statements, and financial reports.
• Ensure easy retrieval of documents for audits, internal checks, and management review.
• Update and maintain vendor and customer records as necessary.

5. Support Accounts Team

• Assist senior accountants in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by furnishing necessary documents and explanations.
• Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance-related documentation when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally ERP, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong numerical and data entry skills with high attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Basic understanding of bank reconciliation and voucher preparation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
