Job Description: A TV Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of television sets and related audio-visual (AV) equipment. This role requires technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and strong customer service skills, as TV technicians often work directly with customers in their homes or businesses. TV Technicians can be employed by electronics retailers, repair service providers, broadcasting companies, or operate as independent contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation of Television and AV Systems: One of the main duties of a TV technician is installing televisions and associated equipment such as home theater systems, soundbars, cable or satellite boxes, digital antennas, and streaming devices. This includes wall-mounting flat-screen TVs, connecting input/output devices, and ensuring that all components are correctly configured for optimal performance. TV technicians also guide customers through the setup process, helping them understand the controls, menus, remote functions, and available features. In some cases, this may include setting up smart TVs with Wi-Fi, installing apps, configuring parental controls, and integrating streaming services. 2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: When a customer experiences issues with their television, a TV technician is called upon to identify and resolve the problem. This involves using diagnostic tools and software to test signal strength, screen display, sound output, and input connections. Technicians must be skilled in isolating problems, whether they stem from hardware failures, software bugs, poor signal reception, or user errors. The technician may also inspect components such as power supplies, circuit boards, connectors, tuners, HDMI ports, and display panels to determine if any parts are malfunctioning or damaged. 3. Repair and Replacement: After diagnosing an issue, a TV technician may perform the necessary repairs.
