Dentist - BDS

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Consultation & Diagnosis

• Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, including oral inspections, X-rays, and dental history reviews .
• Diagnose dental issues such as cavities, gum diseases, oral infections, and structural abnormalities .
• Recommend appropriate treatment plans based on diagnosis and patient needs.
• Explain dental conditions and procedures to patients clearly and in a friendly manner.

2. Dental Treatments & Procedures

• Perform a wide range of dental treatments, including:
  • Tooth extractions
  • Root canal treatments (RCT)
  • Dental fillings and restorations
  • Scaling and polishing
  • Crowns, bridges, and dentures
• Administer local anesthesia where required and ensure patient comfort.
• Use modern dental techniques and equipment for efficient and painless treatments.

3. Preventive Dental Care

• Educate patients about oral hygiene practices, brushing techniques, and dietary habits .
• Provide counseling on preventive care and early detection of dental issues .
• Recommend fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and regular check-ups to maintain oral health.

4. Patient Care & Relationship Management

• Build strong rapport and trust with patients through empathetic communication .
• Handle patient anxieties and dental fears with a calm and reassuring approach .
• Follow up with patients after treatments to monitor recovery and satisfaction.
• Ensure the highest level of patient confidentiality and ethical care .

5. Equipment & Hygiene Management

• Maintain a clean and sterile dental environment in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Ensure proper sterilization of dental tools and instruments before every procedure.
• Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, dental drills, and imaging systems .
• Report equipment malfunctions and ensure timely maintenance.

6. Collaboration & Teamwork

• Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and other team members for smooth patient care.
• Coordinate with laboratory technicians for dental impressions, crowns, bridges, and prosthetics.
• Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and training sessions.
• Assist junior dentists and interns in learning procedures and patient management.

7. Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment history, X-ray reports, and follow-up notes .
