Required Accountant Assistant - Mumbai

Position Overview

We are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented, and responsible Accountant Assistant to join our accounts team for an office-based role in the construction industry . The role involves construction-related billing, Tally data entry, financial record maintenance, and report preparation . The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of accounting principles , strong knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) , and proficiency in Tally ERP . You will be working in a modern AC office with a workforce of 100 employees , where timely salary disbursement and a professional work environment are ensured.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Billing

• Assist in preparing construction-related bills, purchase orders, and invoices .
• Enter accounting data into Tally ERP and maintain accurate financial records.
• Verify vendor bills, subcontractor invoices, and payment vouchers .
• Support in preparing client billing statements and coordinating payments.
• Manage petty cash expenses and assist in maintaining daily cash registers .

2. Financial Data Management

• Ensure accurate and timely data entry in Tally ERP for all financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements, vendor ledgers, and client accounts .
• Assist in tracking project expenses, budget utilization, and cost analysis .
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

3. Construction Project Coordination

• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and vendors for billing-related requirements.
• Track material procurement, stock usage, and site-level expenses .
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of all project-wise bills, quotations, and work orders .

4. MS Office & Reporting

• Prepare Excel reports on revenue, expenses, project costing, and cash flows.
• Draft official letters, proposals, and internal memos using MS Word .
• Assist in preparing presentations and project reports using MS PowerPoint .
• Maintain well-organized digital and physical filing systems .

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure timely GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance filings under supervision.
• Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes and internal inspections .
• Support in preparing documents required for taxation and government approvals .

Required Skills & Competencies

1. Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime for data entry and financial management.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, and Reports).
• Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook .
• Basic understanding of construction billing, project cost tracking, and invoice processing .

2. Accounting & Analytical Skills

• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices .
