As part of SAP 's Application AI organization, you 'll lead a team at the forefront of enterprise AI innovation. You 'll shape how SAP 's customers plan, build, and visualize with generative AI-across Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and beyond. What You 'll Do
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers building the next generation of SAP 's generative:AI services. You 'll provide technical and people leadership, ensuring our projects deliver both innovation and enterprise reliability. Working closely with product managers, researchers, and partner teams across SAP, you 'll shape roadmaps, remove execution barriers, and build a high:performing engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities
:
Lead, mentor, and grow a cross:functional team of engineers (junior to senior) delivering production:grade AI workflows.
:
Drive technical execution for multi:agent orchestration (LangGraph) across DRP, Experience Builder, and Visual Services.
:
Partner with product leadership to define roadmaps that balance innovation with enterprise:grade scalability, governance, and security.
:
Ensure engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural oversight, and best practices in testing, deployment, and monitoring.
:
Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and experimentation within the team.
:
Coordinate with SAP AI platform teams (e.g., GenAI Hub, BTP, HANA Cloud) to align on shared infrastructure and governance standards.
:
Translate cutting:edge research (e.g., LLMs, RAG, diffusion, multimodal) into scalable, trusted enterprise solutions.
:
Manage delivery timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
What You Bring:
:
8 years of professional experience in software or machine learning engineering, including at least 2 years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
:
Strong technical background in ML/AI (LLMs, embeddings, multimodal generation, or agentic systems).
:
Proficiency in Python or another language such as Go or TypeScript, and understanding of distributed systems is highly desirable.
:
Experience leading teams working with cloud:native infrastructure (Kubernetes, AWS/Azure), data platforms (Postgres, Cassandra, vector databases), and modern frontend frameworks (React/Next.js).
:
Proven ability to deliver production AI systems at scale with attention to quality, reliability, and security.

Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers, fostering team growth, and creating an inclusive, high:performance culture.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in cross:functional, global teams.
