We re Hiring | Assistant Manager Human Resources (NGO Experience Mandatory)

Industry: NGO / Social Sector
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and committed Assistant Manager Human Resources with mandatory experience in the NGO or social development sector. The role involves managing HR operations, recruitment, compliance, employee engagement, and supporting field-based teams while aligning HR practices with the organization s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for field and office roles across projects.
  • Coordinate with program managers to understand manpower requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and ensure timely onboarding of staff and volunteers.

2. HR Operations & Administration

  • Handle employee records, contracts, attendance, and leave management.
  • Prepare HR MIS reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support payroll inputs and ensure timely salary processing.

3. Employee Engagement & Welfare

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives aligned with NGO culture.
  • Address employee grievances and support staff welfare programs.
  • Build positive employee relations across field and office teams.

4. Compliance & Policies

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, NGO regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Support audits, donor requirements, and documentation related to HR.
  • Implement HR policies, SOPs, and code of conduct.

5. Performance Management

  • Assist in goal setting, appraisals, and performance review processes.
  • Support training and capacity-building initiatives for employees.

6. Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with management, donors, and external partners on HR matters.
  • Support project-based staffing and reporting requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in NGO / Social Sector HR operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage field staff and multi-location teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and HR reporting
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
