Manager / Deputy Manager - Automotive Tier-1 SalesLocation: Gurgaon (Pan India)Experience: 10 YearsQualification: BE / BTech - Mechanical EngineeringRole Overview: The Manager / Deputy Manager Sales will be responsible for managing and growing strategic Automotive Tier-1 accounts in the Pan-India region. The role involves front-end sales ownership, including RFQ management, costing, commercial negotiations, forecasting, and account development, ensuring sustainable and profitable business growth. The position requires a strong understanding of the automotive Tier-1 ecosystem, deep customer engagement capabilities, and effective cross-functional coordination with engineering, costing, quality, and operations teams.Key Responsibilities1) Key Account Management & Customer Engagement- Manage key Automotive Tier-1 customer accounts in the Pan-India region- Act as the single point of contact for assigned customers- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Purchase, Engineering, Quality, Program, and SCM teams- Develop and execute account growth strategies to increase business volumes and profitability2) Front-End Sales & Business Development- Lead front-end sales activities for Automotive Tier-1 accounts- Identify new programs, model-wise opportunities, and incremental business- Support new customer acquisition and expansion within existing accounts- Participate in customer meetings, reviews, and technical-commercial discussions3) RFQ, Costing & Commercial Negotiations- Handle RFQs, costing inputs, and commercial proposals- Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Costing, Manufacturing, Quality) for accurate and timely quotations- Lead price negotiations, commercial finalization, and business awards4) Forecasting, MIS & Reporting- Prepare and maintain sales forecasts, pipelines, and account-wise business plans- Track sales vs budget and analyze gaps- Prepare Sales MIS, dashboards, and management presentations- Monitor model-wise performance, market share, and competitor activity5) Market & Customer Intelligence- Track customer sourcing plans, upcoming models, and program timelines- Gather intelligence on competitor pricing, sourcing strategies, and industry trends- Ensure high customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership6) Mandatory Customer Exposure (Client Requirement): The candidate having hands-on experience handling Tier-1 Automotive customers.Skills & Competencies- Strong experience in Automotive Tier-1 Key Account Management- Proven expertise in front-end sales, RFQs, and commercial negotiations- Good understanding of automotive components, manufacturing processes, and costing- Strong forecasting, CRM, MIS, and data analysis skills- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities- Ability to manage multiple accounts, programs, and cross-functional teamsIdeal Candidate Profile- 10 years of experience in Automotive Tier-1 sales / KAM roles- Mandatory exposure to Tier-1 automotive customers listed above- Strong commercial acumen with solid technical understanding (ref:updazz.com)
