Job Description: Area Sales Manager - Tiles (Govt & Project Sales)Location: ChennaiIndustry: Tiles / Ceramics / Building MaterialsKey Responsibilities- Drive project sales and government business for tiles across Chennai and assigned Tamil Nadu territory.- Handle government tenders, including registration, tender submission, BOQ study, rate negotiation, and order finalization.- Manage private projects such as residential, commercial, hospitality, hospitals, and institutional projects.- Build and maintain strong relationships with government engineers (PWD, CPWD, PSU), architects, consultants, builders, and contractors.- Appoint, develop, and manage project dealers and channel partners to ensure consistent market coverage.- Track primary & secondary sales, ensure timely order execution, dispatch coordination, and collections.- Conduct site visits, product approvals, mock-ups, and sample coordination for projects.- Monitor market competition, pricing trends, and upcoming government/project opportunities.- Prepare monthly sales plans, forecasts, MIS reports, and achievement reviews.- Coordinate with internal teams (supply chain, accounts, marketing) for smooth project execution.Key Requirements- 6-10 years of experience in tiles / ceramics / building materials with strong government & project sales exposure.- Hands-on experience in tendering, BOQ, and project negotiations.- Strong network with government departments, architects, builders, and contractors in Chennai & Tamil Nadu.- Good understanding of tiles specifications, applications, and project requirements.- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.Preferred Background- Experience with premium or mid-segment tile brands.- Exposure to large infrastructure, institutional, or hospitality projects.
