While Medical Billing Directors, Operations Heads, RCM Managers, and Billing Team Leads set overarching collection targets, clean claim benchmarks, days in accounts receivable (Days in AR) goals, and payer compliance guidelines, your main responsibility is to actively follow up with US insurance payers, resolve unpaid or rejected medical claims, look into the reasons behind claim denials, prepare re-submissions/appeals, and secure the best possible reimbursement for healthcare providers. Key Skills: US Healthcare RCM & AR Follow-Up Mastery: In-depth practical understanding of revenue cycle management concepts, insurance verification, claims adjudication procedures, ageing bucket management, and the complete US medical billing workflow. Practice Management Software & Clearinghouse Proficiency: Practical knowledge of clearinghouse/payer portals (Availity, Navinet, Change Healthcare, Medicare Portal) and PM systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, NextGen, AdvancedMD). Denial Management, CARC/RARC & EOB Expertise: Outstanding proficiency in reading EOBs/ERAs, deciphering CARC (Claim Adjustment Reason Code) and RARC details, comprehending CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding connections, and creating persuasive appeal letters. Negotiation and Telephone Communication Capability: To successfully negotiate with payer representatives, state claims examiners, and provider representatives, one must possess assertive, lucid, and professional oral communication skills in English.
