Facebook Shares Information With Advertisers.

Facebook shares names, photos and information to third party’s,
according to a Harvard Business School professor.
Benjamin Edelman, an assistant professor at Harvard Business School, said that Facebookâs “explicit promises, in its privacy policy and blog posts, turn out to be untrue”. Edelman, is currently working on a research which focuses on advertising activities on Internet and spyware.
According to him clicking on an advertisers’ advertisement reveals the Facebook user’s name or user ID to the advertiser. Thus Advertisers due to default privacy settings can then see almost all of a user’s activity on Facebook, including name, photos, friends, and more.
Edelman has sent his findings about Facebook to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Thursday (May 20). FTC primarily looks into anti-competitive business practices and also promotes consumer protection activities.
Reports suggest that Facebook is still working on introducing changes to their existing privacy setting to protect users.
