Key Responsibilities

1. Site Preparation and Maintenance

• Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in setting up scaffolding, barricades, ladders, or temporary structures.
• Clear debris, remove waste, and maintain site cleanliness to ensure a safe working environment.

2. Material Handling and Mixing

• Transport and distribute construction materials to the required areas on site.
• Assist in mixing concrete, mortar, or other construction materials manually or using mixers.
• Store materials properly to prevent damage and maintain site organization.
• Refill supplies such as sand, cement, gravel, and water as needed.

3. Assisting Skilled Workers

• Support carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other trades by holding materials or tools, cutting materials, or performing other tasks.
• Assist in bricklaying, plastering, tiling, painting, or minor demolition under supervision.
• Provide help in basic measurements, leveling, and alignment activities.

4. Tool and Equipment Maintenance

• Clean tools and equipment after use and return them to the storage area.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning tools and assist in basic tool repairs or maintenance.
• Ensure proper handling and safety of construction machinery under guidance.

5. Safety and Compliance

• Follow all health and safety procedures and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including helmet, gloves, safety shoes, and reflective vest.
• Identify and report hazards, spills, or unsafe practices to the supervisor.
• Take part in safety briefings and toolbox talks as required.
• Ensure all activities are conducted according to site rules and safety regulations.

6. General Assistance

• Support deliveries by receiving materials and verifying quantity and condition.
• Assist in relocating furniture, fixtures, or equipment during renovation or interior works.
• Perform errands or tasks as instructed by the foreman or site supervisor.
• Help with final site clean-up after project completion or at the end of the workday.
