Circuit Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Circuit Design & Development:

• Design analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuits based on system specifications and requirements.
• Develop schematics using CAD tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle).
• Select appropriate components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, microcontrollers, transistors, etc.) for performance, availability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with the embedded systems team to ensure compatibility between hardware and software.

2. Simulation and Analysis:

• Use simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PSpice, Multisim) to analyze circuit behavior, including signal integrity, power consumption, noise, and thermal characteristics.
• Perform tolerance analysis and worst-case circuit analysis to ensure robust design under different operating conditions.
• Optimize circuits for low power, high speed, high precision, or other project-specific parameters.

3. PCB Design and Layout Support:

• Assist in or oversee the PCB layout process in coordination with PCB designers.
• Ensure proper layout techniques, such as grounding, trace width, impedance control, and component placement to reduce EMI and ensure signal integrity.
• Review PCB layouts for compliance with design rules and manufacturability.

4. Prototyping and Testing:

• Build and test circuit prototypes using breadboards, development kits, or PCBs.
• Conduct bench-level testing using instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and function generators.
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot hardware-related issues and bugs.
• Document test procedures and results, making necessary design modifications based on findings.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare detailed documentation including block diagrams, circuit schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and test reports.
• Maintain version control and records of changes throughout the development lifecycle.
• Write design notes and technical explanations for internal teams and manufacturing partners.

6. Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure designs comply with relevant safety and performance standards (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS, ISO, EMC).
• Work with compliance testing teams and certification bodies to ensure products pass regulatory requirements.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning discussions.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate hardware into the final product.
