Civil Site Supervisor

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Site Supervisor to oversee daily activities on civil construction sites, particularly focused on drainage work and related infrastructure projects. The role involves daily site visits, planning daily tasks, managing labour teams, ensuring quality control, and communicating daily progress with the project owner. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in site supervision, the ability to make quick and accurate decisions during fieldwork, and a clear understanding of construction standards and drainage work techniques. This role demands responsibility, leadership, and on-the-ground presence to ensure smooth, timely, and efficient execution of construction tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Site Visits and Supervision

• Conduct daily visits to the construction site to monitor and supervise work progress.
• Ensure that all site activities are carried out according to approved drawings and project timelines.
• Verify that safety protocols and site discipline are followed at all times.
• Identify and immediately address any site issues or irregularities.

2. Daily Schedule Planning

• Prepare daily work plans and allocate tasks to teams based on project requirements.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and work sequencing.
• Ensure that resources (labour, materials, tools) are available as per the daily work schedule.
• Track daily progress and adjust schedules when delays or challenges arise.

3. Labour Management

• Supervise, coordinate, and lead the work of labourers, masons, helpers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure that all workers understand the day s work plan and execute it accordingly.
• Monitor labour attendance, productivity, and discipline.
• Resolve any conflicts or misunderstandings between labourers efficiently and fairly.

4. Decision-Making in Drain Work Projects

• Take informed and timely decisions related to site work, especially in drainage projects, such as pipeline levels, slopes, and alignment.
• Interpret drawings and specifications related to drainage work, manholes, chambers, slopes, and road crossings.
• Check excavation depth, bedding, pipe installation, and joint sealing to ensure proper execution.
• Coordinate with the project engineer or owner to seek clarification when needed.

5. Site Documentation and Daily Updates

• Maintain a detailed daily site diary , including weather conditions, manpower details, activities completed, problems faced, and decisions made.
• Record quantities of materials used, work completed, and issues encountered during the day.
• Share daily updates in written format or over WhatsApp/email with the project owner.

6. Daily Photographic Records

• Capture high-quality photographs of key activities, milestones, or concerns on-site.
• Maintain a chronological file or folder of daily site photos for documentation and reference.
• Share selected images with the owner or project team to provide visual updates of the site.

7. Communication and Reporting

• Communicate clearly with the project owner or site engineer about progress, obstacles, or decisions made.
