Required Machine Operator - Chennai

Job Summary:

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring machinery used in production processes to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to quality standards. This role involves setting up machines, adjusting controls, performing routine inspections, and troubleshooting minor issues to minimize downtime. The Machine Operator will play a vital role in maintaining the flow of production and ensuring that safety and quality standards are met consistently. Ideal candidates should be technically inclined, physically able to work in a manufacturing environment, and have a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation:
  Operate various types of production machinery including CNC machines, presses, cutting equipment, packaging machines, or assembly line machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Setup and Calibration:
  Prepare and set up machines for production runs by installing tools, fixtures, and materials, and making necessary adjustments to machine controls.
• Monitoring:
  Continuously monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions or deviations. Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure machines are running correctly.
• Quality Control:
  Inspect finished products and components for quality and consistency, using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges. Report any defects or inconsistencies immediately.
• Maintenance:
  Perform routine maintenance on machines such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Report larger mechanical issues to maintenance technicians promptly.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and report potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate production records including machine operation logs, inspection reports, and maintenance activities.
• Teamwork:
  Collaborate with other operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Suggest and participate in initiatives aimed at improving machine efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing workplace safety.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery.
• Understanding of production processes and quality control standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as machine manuals, blueprints, or production schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Basic math skills for measurement and calibration tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
