Job Overview:The Senior Sales and Application Engineer will be responsible for driving sales and business development efforts for speciality lubricants in the South Indian region. The role requires in-depth technical knowledge of lubrication solutions, establishing strong customer relationships, and providing customized product support. The position reports directly to the Business Head and collaborates with other teams to drive growth and market share.Key Responsibilities:Sales Strategy & Business Development:- Develop and execute the sales strategy for speciality lubricants - Drive revenue growth and market penetration through targeted sales campaigns and strategic business development.- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key industry verticals such as automotive, industrial, and manufacturing.Customer Relationship Management:- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).- Provide technical support to customers, offering solutions tailored to their specific lubrication requirements.- Conduct regular visits to clients to assess customer needs, monitor product performance, and ensure satisfaction.Technical Support & Applications Engineering:- Offer expert technical support in selecting, applying, and troubleshooting lubrication solutions.- Conduct product training and demonstrations for customers and sales teams.- Provide recommendations for lubrication systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Market Analysis & Reporting:- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements in the region.- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for the Business Head.- Suggest pricing, promotional strategies, and product improvements based on market feedback.Collaboration & Teamwork:- Work closely with internal teams, including, R&D, marketing, and logistics, to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.- Assist in the development of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for the region.- Provide feedback to the product development team on customer needs and market demands.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):- Achievement of sales targets and revenue growth in the assigned region.- Customer satisfaction and retention.- Market share increase and brand visibility in South India.- Successful technical support and troubleshooting outcomes for key customers.Education & Experience:- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field (post-graduate qualifications preferred).- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in sales, application engineering, or technical sales in the speciality lubricants industry.- Proven track record in business development and sales management in the lubrication or related industrial sectors.Technical Expertise:- Strong technical knowledge of lubricants, oils, greases, and their applications in industrial and automotive sectors.- Ability to understand and analyse lubrication systems and challenges in various industries.Sales & Negotiation Skills:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers at all levels.- Experience in negotiating contracts and closing high-value deals.Regional Knowledge:- Deep understanding of the South Indian market and customer requirements.- Ability to travel extensively across the region and maintain a presence with key accounts.Soft Skills:- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.- Ability to work independently with a high degree of motivation and self-management.- Strong presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
