Engineer Precision Tool Designer with Development Focus Job Description Experience: 3+ yrs Salary: Based on Previous Experience Challenges: A future of Integrated Product Quality (IPQ), in which quality assurance starts with the tool and fixture design itself rather than with inspection, is rapidly approaching in the manufacturing sector. To guarantee First Time Quality (FTQ) and zero-defect production, there is a need for specialised Tool Design Engineers that can easily incorporate quality standards, GD&T, and metrology concepts into each design. By incorporating quality into the core of our manufacturing tools, we hope to attain unparalleled precision. What you will do: You will be responsible for the full design and development cycle of manufacturing tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges, with a critical focus on quality control functionality. This includes creating precision 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software, applying advanced GD&T to tooling designs based on product requirements, and designing robust inspection fixtures and gauges. Your tasks will involve collaborating closely with the Quality and Production teams to validate new tools for process capability (CpK), leading tool design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and implementing design modifications based on root cause analysis of production issues.
