Blueprint & WPS Interpretation: To ascertain the necessary weld type, size, and material, examine and comprehend technical drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications WPS. Metal Preparation: To ensure a high-quality bond, clean, grind, and bevel metal workpieces to get rid of paint, corrosion, or scale. Equipment Setup: Depending on the thickness of the material, choose the right electrodes and modify the welding machine 's amperage and voltage. Joint Fit-up: Prior to the final welding pass, align and secure pieces using clamps, jigs, and tack welds to preserve dimensional correctness. Quality Inspection: Perform basic non-destructive testing NDT and visual inspections of completed welds to find flaws such as porosity, undercut, or incomplete penetration.
