Mechanical Engineer Trainee Learn, Design & Build Job Description Responsibilities: Mechanical Systems & Design: From initial concept to intricate manufacturing blueprints, design intricate mechanical components, assemblies, enclosures, and machinery parts using sophisticated 3D CAD modeling software. Engineering Analysis & Simulation: To assess structural integrity, thermal performance, fatigue life, and fluid dynamics under real-world stresses, run Finite Element Analysis FEA and Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD simulations. GD&T Specification & Detailing: To ensure accurate production tolerances and smooth stack-up assembly fits, apply stringent Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD&T principles to 2D engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 norms. Prototyping and Experimental Testing: To validate design requirements, create rigorous stress-testing jigs, environmental test settings, and data-acquisition workflows. Build, assemble, test, and refine physical prototypes. Design for Manufacturing DFM/DFA: Reduce cycle times and waste by optimizing component design for effective manufacturing and assembly processes. Material Selection & Analysis: Consider environmental durability, structural loads, thermal wear, weight profiles, and cost limitations when evaluating and choosing suitable metals, alloys, polymers, and composite substrates. Root Cause Failure Analysis: Use structured fishbone or 5-Why approaches to perform corrective and preventive measures CAPA after looking into mechanical field failures, component wear problems, or manufacturing variations.
