Production Deputy Manager Plant Production Operations Specialist Job Description: Our plastics processing division's "Manufacturing Execution Authority" and "Operational Velocity Architect" is the Production Deputy Manager. Your main goal is to achieve aggressive daily, weekly, and monthly volume targets by methodically managing, scaling, and optimizing plant-wide production operations over several shifts. As the "OEE Optimization & Scrap Containment Champion," you coordinate shift in-charges, tool room engineers, machine setters, and material planning modules to optimize machine utilization, reduce changeover windows, and reduce operational waste. You are the vital link between senior plant management and everyday shop-floor engineering cells. The ideal applicant is a highly analytical, tactical manufacturing leader who combines a highly disciplined approach to capacity planning, budget tracking, and workforce development with a deep structural understanding of polymer dynamics, robotic extraction frameworks, and scientific molding principles. Key Duties: Plant Capacity & Output Execution: Ensure 100% on-time component supply to downstream assembly or external clients by supervising, balancing, and carrying out the master production schedule across all designated horizontal and vertical injection molding machines. OEE Optimization & Bottleneck Remediation: To execute quick technical improvements, do thorough daily evaluations of plant efficiency metrics, examining cycle-time deviations, cavity drops, and localized machine downtimes. Scientific Molding & Process Optimization: Control the engineering parameters for ongoing projects, ensuring that melt temperatures, cooling curves, cavity packing pressures, and injection speed profiles are all methodically tuned using scientific molding logic to optimize yield. SMED & Changeover Window Minimization: To save setup times, implement Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) frameworks throughout the floor, organizing mold change, color-change, and material conversion sequences. Material Conservation & Rejection Analysis: To permanently reduce raw material variation losses, track scrap generation during all shifts and do systematic root-cause diagnostics on recurring molding flaws (warping, silver streaks, flash, short shots, sink marks). Cross-Functional Tool Room & Utility Alignment: Regulate mold preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, machine condition monitoring cycles, and utility uptime profiles to reduce unplanned downtime by interacting with the Tool Room and Maintenance engineering cells on a daily basis.
