E&I Technician Supporting High-Performance Operations Job Description The plant operations division 's "Control Loop Specialist " and "Electro-Pneumatic Diagnostics Expert " are Electrical & Instrumentation E&I Technicians. Calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated electrical distribution systems, automated process control equipment, and chemical analytical instrumentation are your principal responsibilities. As the "Sensing and Execution Authority, " you serve as a liaison between the digital PLC control logic and the actual manufacturing machinery, such as transmitters, motors, and control valves. To guarantee continuous plant dependability and safety, the ideal applicant is a hands-on technical problem-solver with a "Absolute-Precision " attitude who is fully proficient in loop testing, reading P&IDs, and maintaining instrumentation accuracy. Responsibilities Calibration and Calibration Logging: Use process instruments that measure pressure, temperature, flow, level, and pH for routine calibration, testing, and zero-point alignment. Map results to traceable laboratory calibration masters. Loop Testing & Commissioning: To confirm signal integrity, perform loop checks from actual field transmitters back to the central SCADA/DCS control rooms. Pneumatic & Valve Maintenance: To ensure quick, accurate feedback reaction times, check, repair, and adjust control valves, smart positioners, actuators, and localized pneumatic solenoid banks. Electrical Infrastructure Maintenance: Keep low-voltage plant infrastructure, such as industrial lighting panels, motor control centers, frequency drives, and localized backup battery systems, in good working order. Automation Troubleshooting: To verify I/O statuses, identify communication issues, and cross-reference active interlock triggers, connect diagnostic programming laptops to floor-based Programmable Logic Controllers. Skills: P&ID & Schematic Literacy: The capacity to read and comprehend complex loop sheets, electrical single-line drawings, interior panel wiring schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams P&IDs. Instrumentation Meter Fluency: Practical proficiency with calibration instruments, such as pressure hand pumps, digital multimeters, HART/FOUNDATION Fieldbus communicators, and dry-block temperature calibrators. Process Loop Knowledge: A thorough comprehension of signal scaling mechanisms, process s, closed-loop PID control theories, and fundamental discrete industrial automation pipelines. Electro-Mechanical Manual Dexterity: Excellent motor skills to construct high-pressure compression fittings, strip fine communication cables, and make delicate internal potentiometer adjustments.
